Basic gift registry rules:
One: never include registry information of any kind in invitations to weddings, or engagement parties, or showers. It’s not appropriate to dictate to guests what kind of gifts you would prefer. Gifts for engagement parties and showers should be small and should come from the heart, whatever friends and family can afford. Registry information included with a wedding invitation is considered presumptuous and in bad taste. All that’s asked of your guests is “the honour of (their) presence. and that’s not spelled p-r-e-s-e-n-t-s.
Two: Let guests know where you’re registered by spreading the word through the grapevine. Tell your families, and make your bridal parties aware so that they can tell your guests-who will ask.
Three: Put up a FAWQ (frequently asked wedding questions) on your Wedding Website. Fill the site with pertinent information related to your wedding: lodging arrangements, things to do, etc. and tell folks where you’re registered.
Four: Register at national chains, so that all guests across the country, have access to your bridal registry. Register online, too. It’s fast, convenient, and easy. not only for the bride and groom, but for their families, friends and guests.
Five: Register for gifts in all price ranges so that guests, no matter what their budget, will have choices. Embarrass no one.
